This Is What I Wear at 59 – The Little Plum "Thingy" That Stole the Show

This is what I wear at 59, and today's outfit proves that style doesn't have to be complicated, expensive, or follow strict fashion rules. Sometimes the best outfits are built around pieces that make you smile, and today's look definitely did that!

From my highly requested black leggings to my famous plum "thingy" from Walmart, this outfit was comfortable, stylish, practical, and filled with pieces that each have their own story to tell.

Let's start with the item that so many of my awesome followers keep asking about—these black leggings from Winners. They are very form-fitting, comfortable, and, apparently, becoming a regular feature in my OOTDs. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to wear them as often as I do, but they've become one of those dependable wardrobe staples that seem to work with everything.

And speaking of things that go with everything, let's talk about my knitted sweater vest... or tank top... or whatever you want to call it!

In the video, I lovingly referred to it as my "thingy." Honestly, what exactly is a thingy anyway? Whatever it is, this plum-colored thingy came from Walmart and actually had a matching cardigan sold separately. Since the weather didn't call for an extra layer today, the cardigan stayed home and the thingy got its moment to shine.

For footwear, I reached for my black sparkle sneakers from Amazon. Because let's be honest—every girl deserves a little sparkle in her step! The subtle black glitter perfectly matched my leggings while adding just enough fun to the outfit.

Around my neck, I wore my "fussy pearls" from Temu. I call them fussy because they have multiple layers that constantly seem determined to tangle themselves together. I suspect they're designed to have that effortless layered look, but my OCD sometimes has other ideas! Despite their stubborn nature, they are absolutely beautiful and work with almost any outfit.

My ring of choice today was my Ultrahuman RingAIR, my health and fitness tracker. It has become such a part of my daily routine that I barely notice I'm wearing it anymore. The only time it comes off is when it needs charging.

On the opposite wrist was something very special—my Fossil watch, gifted to me by a wonderful friend. This watch means so much more than simply telling time. Not only was it an incredibly thoughtful gift, but she also had my name engraved on the back. Every time I wear it, I'm reminded of her kindness and friendship.

Sharing the spotlight on that hand was my famous "BIG DIAMOND" ring—yes, I say that with a laugh every time! This beautiful silver-toned ring came from Temu and certainly makes a statement.

My bag of choice today coordinated beautifully with my plum thingy. This little suede bag from Temu may be small, but it holds all of my essentials while adding a fun, edgy element to the outfit. One of my favorite details is that it resembles the top of a pair of jeans. It's unique, unexpected, and always sparks a little conversation.

And as I always say, no ensemble is ever complete without a pair of sunnies!

Today's sunglasses feature a gold frame with what I originally called a lion in the video—but upon closer inspection, I think it's actually a tiger! They also feature wooden arms and a gorgeous brown-toned lens. Stylish? Absolutely. Practical? Definitely. The perfect finishing touch to pull everything together.

This outfit is a wonderful reminder that fashion isn't about labels or price tags. It's about wearing pieces you love, finding joy in your personal style, and creating outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable.

And today, my plum thingy certainly helped me do just that!
